Serisii TogarishiAge and Date of Birth:
25; Third Month, Fourth Day.Gender:
Taran Major (Therasii
Captial City, TaranJob:
Mechanic; Tesani group (maintenance)Appearance:
Serisii is of medium height, medium weight - medium build, really, but the potential for great beauty is there, if she ever cared enough to show it. She stands at five feet, eight inches and weighs in at a solid 127 pounds of toned muscle (but is getting a little bit too squishy in the middle for her tastes). She has short-cropped fluffy black hair and blue-green eyes, both colors signs of the dominant race on Taran, an appearance that has granted her great favors and gotten her out of small scrapes growing up, as the Therasii side with their own.
After joining the military and being assigned to the Therasii Pride
, Serisii’s attire is stoic. She wears a dark grey mechanic’s jumpsuit, the top of which she ties around her waist to reveal a tight-fitting lighter grey tee-shirt to afford her move movability – and to remind people she is a girl. To make up for the lack of command sign and name tag (both of which are on the jacket portion of her jumpsuit, the former emblazoned upon the back, the nametag on the front), and to keep her bangs out of her eyes, Serisii wears the matching command hat in dark grey. Her last name, Togarishi, is printed across the back fastening of the cap and her command sign, a maroon ringed planet on a pitchfork, is proudly stitched to the front of the cap above the bill.Hobbies/Occupations:
Serisii found a deep passion in mechanics and tinkering; as such, she often invents products and gadgets she field tests before submitting for inspection as review. Growing up she dabbled in gymnastics and keeps limber to this day, always a plus when she goes climbing.Skills/Abilities:
Skilled with flips, turns, and easily keeps her balance. Has strong hands, both from using them a lot when tinkering and during rock climbing. Is a pretty good lock pick and can reprogram several devices easily.Personality:
Serisii can be called pretty much anything – and she’d take it with a shrug – but ‘delicate’. Raised as a proud Therasii on Taran, she was born with an innate sense of pride that took the form of perfectionism in her work as she grew. Though receiving many awards for her ideas, her prototypes and her repair work, time has only aided to extend that sense of pride, deeply ingraining itself in her work as a mechanic/inventor and driving her to become even better, never allowing herself to fail or produce a product or service sub-par. As such, if she creates anything, you can bet that it works and it works better than anything else on the market.
This pride and skill of hers has lent itself into various aspects of her life; most noticeably, her status in the military and overall person-to-person interactions. Though she appreciates the ‘try and try again’ method, she has little time for losers: for people who often give up or show little work ethic, else content themselves with shoddy work. Having been inducted into the mechanics program as one of very few females, Serisii adapted accordingly, often acting as one of the guys with the occasionally feminine streak. She comes off as being brash – she learned at an early age that when dealing with boys, it’s aggressive or nothing. If they don’t partly fear your righteous anger, they won’t get anything done.
Still, she’s known to have random acts of kindness – finishing a duty for someone, checking over their work, bringing them a snack when they’re working; overall, she’s become a trustworthy individual onboard, even when her inner loyalties lie with herself and only herself. She follows the path her mind deems most interesting – if working on a certain project seems more fun than helping someone out, consider them tossed. She has a short patience for peacocks and door mice – people possessing egos on either end of the spectrum, either so large they need constant attention or so small that they don’t seek any. Serisii sees an ego as a necessary thing, but too much or too little is disastrous and annoys her to no end.
She has a soft spot for people like her, those who have a dream and are working diligently towards it. Be it a small goal or a grand one, if she notices that their effort is extraordinary, she’ll help them out.
Being Taran Therasii, she is a little biased towards her own race. Those of the Kersa race are below her in almost every respect, and those of other races might get somewhere near the grandeur of her own race, but as they were so easily dominated, they’re not exactly equal in status. Biography/History:
Serisii was a quiet girl who kept very much to herself growing up, her parents seeing the trait as a sign of strength. In school she was intelligent, quick-witted, but still did not make many friends with her Therasii peers, instead inclined towards mechanics magazines. She build her first machine at age 10 and graduated from normal school four years early, moving then to a school of higher learning for an engineering program.
She was 22 when they discovered they could harness the power of star seeds; her parents, very political and rather influential in the government’s ring of patrons, received the machine not too long after it was released as a present from the Czar. She was invited to visit when they strapped one of their Kersa slaves into the chamber. Serisii didn’t have much attachment to the woman, but still the look of pain that crossed the pair of brown eyes a split second before the Kersa lost consciousness was haunting.
Not too long after, Serisii found herself enlisted in her army as part of the corps that kept the machinery on the Price
in working order, from the soda fountains to the laser arrays to the seed machines. It wasn’t a bad gig, overall, but she didn’t like to be called into fix something in the holding chambers, especially right after the people were gathered, and again right after they figured out what was happening. Hysterics weren’t her thing.
She doesn’t much care for the machines, especially when other sources of power were so readily available. She herself had played around with a new form found on one of the planets they… ‘visited’, and when she brought it up to her superiors they scoffed and waved it off, dismissing it entirely because the output wasn’t as high as the output from a star seed, let alone a sailor crystal. And while she had ‘accidently’ fumbled a repair job and forced a sector of the housing array to use her alternative energy source (with none the wiser, even) she felt she should get more recognition for her achievement.
There was really only one way to accomplish that…Likes/Dislikes:
Likes a challenge, winning said challenge, being rewarded and recognized for the winning of said challenge. Fond of machinery, dislikes sympathetic saps (even when she can occasionally become one). Likes strong-willed children and people with goals they’re willing to fight to achieve.Weaknesses/Strengths:
Strengths would be with machinery and quick thinking. Weaknesses with emotional decision making.Quote:
“What? Shut up.”Dream(s):
To become the foremost engineer on Taran.Family:
Noteworthy political parents; related to several higher-ups on the Pride
, including an uncle on the command team.Other Noteworthy Facts:
Pretty much nothing is ‘noteworthy’ so far as she’s concerned.
