Manga and anime Appearance:
Seika has long wavy hair that is the color of fire and summer; somewhere between red and yellow. Her eyes are golden and her skin tone is actually white, but she often gets a tan from how much time she spends under the sun. Due to her love for physical activities, her body has an athletic build.
She usually wears a yellow ribbon in her hair that also appears in her senshi form. She stands at around 160 cm. Her preferred attire are things that are practical, comfortable to move in and aren’t cumbersome; she prefers shorts and skirts rather than long pants or dresses. Her wardrobe consists primarily of bright colors.Personality:
Seika is athletic, active, and lively. She finds it hard to keep still or do tasks that require her to sit for hours. As such, her grades sometimes suffer because she finds it hard to study, but she’s better at subjects that require physical activities and practical applications. There is, however, one subject that can keep her attention long enough to make her stay still for hours; astronomy. The stars have always fascinated her. She always thought each of them has their own story, never realizing her own is one of them.
Seika is also a romantic at heart, though she doesn’t show this side to her friends for fear they might ridicule her, and to protect her tough image. She loves fairy tales, and have always thought the boy haunting her dreams would become her future husband. She daydreams about him sometimes, concocting scenarios of when she’ll meet him and how, from the simplest ones like running into him on the street, to the most elaborate one involving a fancy ball, a dance, and a lost ribbon. Seika isn’t always the most patience; she’s a doer, not a thinker, so she would sometimes run headfirst into a situation in her desire to do something before thinking it thoroughly. This has gotten her into trouble in the past. She is not very patient, and when stressed her temper can become shorter, so her usually calm demeanor might turn a tad explosive when she’s feeling under pressure.
She has always wanted to be an astronomer. Incidentally, her father likes studying the stars as well, and staring at the sky with his telescope for hours is one of her favorite activities.Any Unique Abilities/Skills:
Seika is really good at most sports and is a quick learner when it comes to physical activities. She learns by doing very well. She is also able to name almost all of the known stars in the sky and point them out at any given time, which allows her to tell directions when there’s nothing else around to help. Finally, she seems able to tolerate heat better than most; during the hottest summers she still appears comfortable when most people have escaped indoors with their fans or into swimming pools. History:
The first incarnation of Sailor Vega was Orihime, the daughter of Tentei, the Sky King that ruled the Kingdom of Lyra. So beautiful and beloved was she that she was called the brightest star in his kingdom and beyond. The princess’ special talent was weaving, and her father especially loved the clothes that she wove. Her work was very sought after and became well-known that soon she was working almost constantly. Orihime loved what she did, but she also became lonely, wondering if she would ever get the chance to meet someone and fall in love with them.
The one time Orihime did stumble into another’s path, she met the very person she was looking for. Hikoboshi, a prince from a neighboring kingdom, Aquila, who had heard of her weaving talents, came to visit in search for a beautiful gown to purchase for his mother. He was amazed by Orihime’s skills and her beauty, and fell in love with her. She, too, returned his feelings, and soon he returned more and more often with an excuse to buy more of her creations just so he could meet her and watch her at work.
Unfortunately, as their love blossomed, so did the conflict between their two kingdoms. They had coexisted in a tenuous peace for a long time, but some old grudge that dated back centuries kept both kingdoms feeling bitter toward each other. All it had ever needed to incite true war was a spark, and someone finally did. Hikoboshi’s mother, the queen of Aquila, was killed in an assassination attempt on his father. For some reason, they believed the people of Lyra was responsible. Whether it was true or not didn’t seem to matter. War broke out between both kingdoms.
This prevented Orihime and Hikoboshi from seeing each other anymore, seeing as now they were enemies. After a long struggle that claimed many lives, in the interest of sparing more fallen soldiers and depleting each of their kingdom’s treasury, the kings of Lyra and Aquila finally agreed to erect a barrier that would forever separate their kingdoms but for one day each year. This prevented more bloodshed, and yet still left a miniscule opening for whatever diplomatic missions and attempts to communicate that might prove necessary.
And so Orihime and Hikoboshi were separated for every day each year except for one. The one day the barrier was lowered each year was the only time they could sneak out to see each other. They always made the best of it, releasing all the yearning they had felt for each other, the longing that had been building up for the entire year. It was both the best and worst day of their lives every time they met, because no matter how they tried to forget each other, that one day would remind them all over again about what they could have yet was out of reach. And yet they couldn’t stop coming.
As the years went by, each was pressured to marry, but neither wanted to even see any other suitor. Orihime kept up hope that one day, when she and Hikoboshi became the rulers of their respective kingdoms, they could put down the barrier and finally be together.
But one day Hikoboshi stopped coming to their meeting place. Orihime went into Aquila and discovered that some of the rebels from Lyra who still harbored a grudge toward Aquila had attacked Hikoboshi when he was on his way to meet her and killed him. Orihime was inconsolable, and a year later, she too succumbed to death. No one could figure out why; she was perfectly healthy. But she had died from her own heartbreak.
Many millennia later, in 21st century Earth, a baby girl was born on the seventh day of the seventh month in Kyoto, Japan, and given the name Seika Hoshino. Since she was a little girl, she’d always dreamed of stars and a mysterious boy who was always out of her reach, who seemed to be waiting for her. The dreams plagued her until she turned seventeen.
That day, the day of Tanabata and her own birthday, she was with her friends enjoying the festival when suddenly a strange creature that didn’t look human appeared and attacked everyone, wrecking the festival. As she hid, terrified, a golden magpie flew down onto her shoulder and started talking to her, telling her that she had the power to fight the creature. It gave her a beautiful brooch in the shape of a golden star and told her some strange words to utter. The brooch glowed in her hand, feeling infused with power. When she repeated the words subconsciously, the power exploded within her, too.
She transformed into Sailor Vega for the first time, and fought the monster. With some effort she managed to vanquish it. She’d heard of sailor senshi in Tokyo, but she never imagined she was one of them. The magpie, Lucida, told her that she was her guardian and that she would help Seika figure out her powers and use them for justice.
That night, as the power faded, Seika began to remember. Memories from her past life reminded her of who she used to be—Orihime. Her heart broke all over again for Hikoboshi, realizing that he was the mysterious boy that had always appeared in her dreams. Lucida told her that Chaos was responsible for creating the strife between Lyra and Aquila before, and that it was also the one keeping Orihime and Hikoboshi apart because their love would have united both kingdoms and created an era of peace that would be unheard of before.
Now Seika’s task was to find the reincarnation of Hikoboshi in this era and fight Chaos’ various manifestations along the way, trying to achieve the happy ending she couldn’t get in her past life. Other Noteworthy Facts:

Lucida used to be Orihime’s closest friend in the kingdom of Lyra and had been similarly reincarnated after Orihime’s death. Back then, Lucida was not a guardian, though they always used to be able to communicate. Lucida was the only one who knew about Orihime’s love for Hikoboshi as once the war broke out, Orihime never mentioned Hikoboshi to her parents anymore. Lucida would always help her back then, too. In this life, upon being reborn, Lucida gained the understanding of Chaos, the need to fight it, and how to help Seika become a sailor senshi, though she herself wasn’t quite sure how the knowledge ended up in her possession. She took upon the role of guardian happily. Lucida is loyal and patient, and always thinks of Seika’s needs first. She is determined to help Seika achieve the happy ending in this life after being forced to watch her closest friend die in heartbreak in their previous lives without being able to do anything about it. RP Sample:
Seika played with the golden brooch in her hand, lifting it up to the moonlight as she lay on her back in bed. Everything was so hard to believe, and yet now she remembered and knew it was the truth. She glanced outside her window to one of the brightest stars in the sky.Vega
That was her. That was where her kingdom used to be. Where she loved and died of heartbreak, and apparently her story made it into the 21st century legends. Her birthday, coinciding with Tanabata, was meant to celebrate the one day of the year she was able to meet her soulmate.
And yet… where was he now? And what was the face of this being called Chaos—the one that had separated her from him and robbed her of her happy ending before?
There were still so many questions, and so much to discover, but she knew she would figure it out. And she had to believe that she would find the reincarnation of Hikoboshi, whoever and wherever he was. She had to believe that she could be happy in this life, because now she had the power to fight Chaos. Perhaps now she could actually do something instead of simply accepting her fate.
There was one thing she was sure of among all the uncertainties. If she was ever going to find Hikoboshi again, it would happen on Tanabata. Either tonight or a year from now, it didn’t matter. She was
going to find him. And along the way, she was going to keep fighting everything Chaos threw at her, clearing as much of its incarnations as possible from this world.
This time, she wasn’t going to let a heartbreak defeat her.
