Hailing from the planet Celestal in the Celestial Star system, Kalila grew up knowing that she was destined to be the senshi of her planet. Every senshi is born with red hair and green eyes while the rest of the population had dark hair and blue eyes. It caused her much grief growing up; her planets government choosing to segregate her to grow up away from others her age. She never had any friends, and anytime she encountered someone her age, they shied away from her, not wanting to accidentally harm the senshi-to-be. She understood that they were trying to help her, train her so she would be prepared when she was old enough to transform, but the constant loneliness got to her.
It took her until the age of 18 to finally transform for the first time, the latest for any senshi in her planets history. Usually they transformed around age 14 and when nothing happened she began to wonder if something was wrong with her. Was she not meant to be the senshi of her planet? But she had the red hair and green eyes of those destined to be Ceslestals guardians. The whispers and the cruel words she would overhear were enough to make her cry. There was one person who never lost faith in her; her mentor Tuoraqick. He always believed that she would transform and be a great senshi as she was destined to believe. Her mentor was the only one that she felt she could be herself with. With him, she was silly, bubbly, and believed in herself.
Two years after she first transformed, rumours began that there was a senshi war in Neo Queen Serenity’s system. The thought made her nervous and she prayed that she wouldn’t have to deal with it. Her system was far enough out, right? The Goddess must not have heard her prayers because it wasn’t long after the rumours first started that a senshi from Queen Zhi’s court arrived, telling her that she had been conscripted into protecting their sector from the looming threat. With no choice in the matter, Sailor Celestal transforms and heads off with the senshi, leaving her planet for the very first time. Other Noteworthy Facts:

Why did she have to go? The threat wasn’t really anywhere near their system, if the rumours were to believed at any rate, yet Queen Zhi had ordered that all senshi join the fight. Not even 10 minutes had passed since Sailor Jin, one of Queen Zhi’s guardian senshi had arrived on Celestal, landing in front of Kalila who had been walking across the court yard in the academy where she had been taken as a child to live and train in preparation for becoming a senshi.
She wasn’t ready for this, she had only been a senshi for two years and had only taken out one chaos enemy and it was a minor one at that! Nothing like what would await her with this war. She couldn’t do this, didn’t the guardian senshi see that? As she summoned her Sailor Wings for flight, she saw her mentor, Tuoraqick, out of the corner of her eye.
It was easy to see that he was worried, having been in the courtyard when the guardian senshi landed, declaring that Celestal was to follow her, having been conscripted into the war. The reassuring smile that he sent her before she took off filled her heart with hope. She could do this, Tuoraqick believed in her, so she should believe in herself.
There was something about the situation that bothered Celestal Senshi by nature were helpful and protected to innocent. Why did the Queen feel the need to force them into this war? Did she think that they would not help? Still, she would go, it was the right thing to do. Following Sailor Jin, she left her planet and headed out into space. She could do this....she hoped.
