PostSubject: Is The Tsubasa Manga Still Available in English?   31st July 2012, 2:26 pm

I always kept meaning to read more of the Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles manga but I never got around to it. They don't have many copies at my Booksamillion and Rightstuf lists a lot of Tsubasa manga under the "We'll get it for you!" status. So is the Tsubasa manga still in print in English? If it's no longer in print, is there any chance of Kodansha USA re-releasing it?

I think your best chances are is finding a manga scalantion site. Tsubasa was translated by Del Rey and I think they're gone now. I really liked Del Rey's translation's. Sad

Wasn't a lot of the DeL Ray mangas bought out by Kodansha? last time i was in a Barnes&Noble/Books-A-Million, they still had the manga. your store might be able to order it for you or see if they can get another store to ship it.

After that try Amazon.

That is if you want to actually buy them...you could just do what yami suggested and read scanlations. :3

I just looked up Del Rey's status. It's from wiki so I don't know how trusting it is.

Quote :
On October 4, 2010, Kodansha and Random House announced that the US
division of Kodansha will take over publishing over all Del Rey Manga
titles as well as their own manga, starting on December 1, 2010. Random
House will act as the sales and marketing distributor.[3]

I wish Kodansha USA would re-release the Tsubasa manga in an omnibus edition. It would make it easier to collect.

Tsubasa is awesome! That and Sailor Moon are my absolute favorites <3 You should definitely read it whenever you get a chance! =] (I read through scans because getting the manga itself proved difficult =[ )

It's too bad they canceled the Tsubasa anime since I thought it was actually pretty good and I don't understand why so many Tsubasa fans hated it.

Well Kodansha did release omibusses of Cardcaptor Sakura so maybe there is some hope? I used to read this series actually, but I stopped reading it when I read a spoiler about some things. It's interesting idea of Clamp combing all their works it's like one big fanfiction crossover. However I cant accept Tsubasa being the sequel to CCS. Or least I read it somewhere it being the sequel.

A sequel? Really? o.O I've never read anything like that, but having personally read the whole series, I don't think it has anything to do with CCS besides having some of the same characters. I think Tsubasa is just an alternate universe of Clamp's where there are crossovers of so many of their lovely characters. I guess it's up to interpretation, but I don't think it's a sequel at all xD Sakura and Syaoran are older at the start of Tsubasa than they are in CCS, and it wouldn't make sense for it to be a sequel when they are in a completely different world than CCS.

Sorry for rambling. I was trying to make a point and lost my way half through haha ^^;; (And I love Tsubasa so I ramble on it a lot xD)
