This is a general topic for discussing the many actors and actresses who were involved in the musicals. We're mostly going to focus on their Sera Myu work, but discussion of their activities before or after is cool too as long as it doesn't get too off topic. Talk about your favorites, who made the best Sailor So and So in your opinion, and anything else that strikes your fancy about them.

There are a few actors and actresses who have caused controversy in the fandom, so please remember to be respectful of others' opinions. That goes without saying obviously, and I think you guys are awesome enough that I don't have too much to worry about in that regard. <3

Notable actors/actresses-



Yuu Shirota (currently going by the name U) is arguably the most successful actor to come from the Myu, at least out of the ones still active today. He played Mamoru from 2003-2004 in four different musicals. Also, he's sort of really fricking beautiful? After Sera Myu, he starred in the Prince of Tennis musicals for a while (which are supposedly really good and filled with gorgeous boys like Yuu, but I haven't seen them myself so don't take my word for it). A couple months ago he kicked off his solo singing career in Japan- you can watch the videos from his first single here.



Chieco Ochi (formerly known as Chieco Kawabe) played Sailor Mercury from 2001-2002 in five different musicals. She's not too active now because she's married and raising a child, but she's known among the fandom for performing not only as Ami in the musicals but also as Naru in PGSM! This makes her one of few performers who have actually been in more than one version of Sailor Moon. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Keiko Han? She also had a short-lived career as an idol singer; one of her singles was Sakura Kiss, the ending theme to Ouran High School Host Club.



Atsuki Ishiguro was in the two Mugen Gakuen musicals as part of a musical-only group called the Grimmseijin, aliens whose planet was wiped out by the Death Busters (basically, wacky Infinity Arc Starlights). I'm pretty much only mentioning her because she spent a short period of time in AKB48, a popular idol group that's REALLY huge in Japan right now. She got fired before she could really get a chance to shine though :c The rumor is that she broke the strict no boyfriends rule that all idols have to adhere to.

Anza was my favorite Moon, but I learned to love the others in time. All of the actresses/actors were unique in their own way and I learned to like them all. I enjoyed Chieco simply because I had seen her in PGSM and was amused with that. It's really hard for me to choose favorites of any of them because I get stuck on one and then they change actresses/actors on you and then you get used to the new ones. Gosh, I am trying to go through them and narrow down favorites and cannot. I want to go watch them all in order now and compare them! XD. They are not fresh on my mind, but I know there were some that stood out more to me.

I've only watched musicals from the first stage and fourth stage. I'd have to say I love Anza as moon for her singing ability, but i think Miyuki does a good job in looks and just how cute she is.

I want to say the girl that played Sailor Luna in PGSM was also in one of the Myu's. I wanna say she played Chibi-Usa at some point? I don't remember now.

Rina Koike wasn't in the musicals xD

I loved Miyuki though. I think she was the best of the four in terms of looking like Usagi... but I just can't get over that voice :c There were some songs where she sounded good though, like Ginga no Sanctuary. Her personality and dancing were great, so I think she was an all around good Moon c:

My favorite Moon is Marina <333 In order of me liking them it goes Marina > Anza > Miyuki > Fumina, but I loved them all.

Personally, I think all of the Moons brought something different to the table. Anza was a great singer and really portrayed the cutesy, innocent side of Usagi well, Fumina was also a great singer and made for a wonderful Neo-Queen Serenit, Miyuki was a great dancer, nailed Usagi's personality, and looked to most like Usagi in my opinion, and Marina was a great dancer and her singing and acting improved over time. I find it really difficult to choose a favourite Moon since I think they all have their strengths and weaknesses. ^^

And yes, I agree. The First Stage Starlights are amazing and Second Stage does not even come close! To be honest, I couldn't stand the Starlights in the anime, but Sayuri, Hikari, and Momoko made me really appreciate their characters. Granted, the musical incarnations of the Three Lights were slightly different than the anime, but my point remains.

I haven't quite finished the musicals yet, so I can't compare all of the actors. I only have a few productions left! ;D

This is kind of random, but...the girl who played Sailor Jupiter in PGSM...is she the one who played Sailor Jupiter in 2002? (I feel silly for not knowing her name nor the musical exactly, but I was watching a random one today and noticed they look a looot alike, but her Wiki page showed nothing....)

Myuu Azama, the actress who portrayed Sailor Jupiter/Makoto Kino in PGSM, did not appear in any of the musicals.
